GST/HST registration
GST/HST registration is the step of signing up with the Canada Revenue Agency so your business can legally collect the tax and recover what it pays on purchases. Registration becomes mandatory once your sales pass the small supplier threshold, but many businesses register voluntarily before then to claim input tax credits on startup costs.
