Federal Incorporation
Federal incorporation creates a corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act, giving it the right to operate and protect its name across every province and territory. That national reach is the main draw for businesses that expect to work in more than one province. A federally incorporated company still has to register extra-provincially wherever it actually carries on business, so the paperwork does not disappear. Compare the path province by province in our Alberta and British Columbia incorporation guides.
