Cash Runway

Cash runway is how long a company can keep operating before it runs out of money, found by dividing the current cash balance by the monthly burn rate. It converts an abstract bank figure into a deadline — the point by which new revenue, cost cuts or fresh funding must arrive. Founders use it to time fundraising and hiring decisions. Our startup finance guide for Canada walks through extending runway when growth is slower than planned.
