Capital Cost Allowance (CCA)

Capital Cost Allowance is the Canadian tax system's version of depreciation: the deduction a business claims over time for the wearing out of capital assets such as equipment, vehicles and buildings. Assets are grouped into CCA classes, each with its own rate, and the deduction is taken on the T2 return. CCA spreads an asset's cost across the years it is used.
